چکیده

Aphids are serious pests of a wide range agricultural crops, including pomegranates and grapevines. In addition, due to the negative environmental impacts chemical insecticides, these developing important resistance against aphicides. Therefore, one alternative method control aphids is use essential oils (EO). The present study aimed evaluate insecticidal activity Citrus aurantium C. reticulata peel EO at different concentrations with exposure periods pomegranate grapevine aphids, Aphis punicae A. illinoisensis via topical application under laboratory conditions. results reveal that L. had greater toxicity LC50 0.37 0.82 ?L/mL, respectively, 48 h after application. highest repellence effect was estimated for EO, 2.5 ?L/cm2, on punicae, value 100% an time 3 h, in contrast 88% illinoisensis. GC-MS investigation both identified limonene, 3-carene, pinene, p-cymene as active substances could be attributed effects observed. Overall, our offer potential tool two aphid species help development integrated insect management fields.

Evaluation of artificial diets for rearing Aphis glycines (Hemiptera: Aphididae).

Artificial aphid diets have been previously developed for the pea aphid, Acyrthosiphon pisum (Harris), and the green peach aphid, Myzus persicae (Sulzer). The ability to rear aphids on an artificial diet allows for selectively adding or subtracting compounds from an aphid's food source to determine the effect on fecundity and longevity. Five diets previously developed for the green peach aphid ...

Comparison of Molecular and Conventional Methods for Estimating Parasitism Level in the Pomegranate Aphid Aphis punicae (Hemiptera: Aphididae)

Aphidiinae (Braconidae: Aphidiinae) is a subfamily of endoparasitic wasps specialized in parasitizing aphids. Although, to date, different methods have been used to measure parasitism level, obtaining an accurate estimate remains challenging due to several limiting factors. This study was set to: 1) Compare efficiency of conventional and molecular-based methods in estimating parasitism level of...

DL-β-Aminobutyric Acid-Induced Resistance in Soybean against Aphis glycines Matsumura (Hemiptera: Aphididae)

Priming can improve plant innate capability to deal with the stresses caused by both biotic and abiotic factors. In this study, the effect of DL-β-amino-n-butyric acid (BABA) against Aphis glycines Matsumura, the soybean aphid (SA) was evaluated. We found that 25 mM BABA as a root drench had minimal adverse impact on plant growth and also efficiently protected soybean from SA infestation. In bo...
